Unlock true grayscale
True grayscale is a system setting Android hands to apps through a one-time developer handshake. Do it once from a computer with a cable and Dwindle can use it. Nothing is installed on the computer and nothing leaves your phone.
This route is new and still being tested, so the command it runs is also shown below.
On the phone: Settings, About phone, tap Build number seven times to turn on Developer options.
In Developer options, turn on USB debugging.
Open this page in Chrome or Edge on the computer, connect the phone with its cable, and press Unlock. The phone asks once whether to allow USB debugging from this computer.
If the page cannot reach your phone, run the same one-time command yourself from a computer with Android platform-tools installed:
adb shell pm grant ca.boundarylabs.dwindle android.permission.WRITE_SECURE_SETTINGS
When it succeeds, open Dwindle on the phone. It checks automatically.
